Andy Lo is a passionate music educator and classically trained pianist dedicated to nurturing creativity and confidence through music. With over a decade of teaching experience in both private and group settings, Andy has worked with students of all ages and skill levels, helping them find their unique musical voice while building solid technical foundations.
Andy was accepted into the renowned Berklee College of Music with a scholarship, where he deepened his understanding of performance, composition, and music education. He later earned his Master’s degree in 2022 from the Longy School of Music of Bard College, further expanding his expertise in teaching and artistic development. His formal training is paired with a warm, student-centered approach that emphasizes musical expression, discipline, and joy.
His lessons incorporate music theory, ear training, sight reading, and improvisation to create a well-rounded and engaging learning experience tailored to each student’s goals and interests.
Beyond the studio, Andy is an active advocate for accessible music education and has contributed to youth arts programs and community workshops across Vancouver and abroad. He believes in the transformative power of music and is committed to creating inclusive, inspiring spaces where students feel empowered to grow both musically and personally.
When he’s not teaching, you can find Andy composing, collaborating with fellow musicians, or curating music events that bring people together.
